Role Purpose:
Supply Chain Analytics (SCA) serves a trusted partner to businesses, leveraging internal and external data to deliver actionable insights and impactful recommendations. This enables businesses to enhance decision-making, create value, seize opportunities, and drive growth. The Lead, Global Supply Chain Data Analytics will manage a team of analytics professionals while also being actively involved in the hands-on development of data analytics projects to drive cost savings, supply assurance, cashflow and operational performance that align with global business objectives. This role is responsible for leading by example, ensuring that the team delivers high-quality analytics solutions, while also directly contributing to the design, development, and implementation of key analytics initiatives. As both a leader and practitioner, the lead will bridge the gap between data insights and business decisions, empowering stakeholders to make informed, impactful business decisions that foster sustainable success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Business Needs Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into actionable, technical specifications aligned with business goals.
• Data Transformation and Modeling: Analyze data and create data transformation models that power applications and BI dashboards, enabling accurate insights.
• Solution Development: Develop and oversee the creation and maintenance of analytics and automation solutions tailored to business requirements, utilizing Corning tools such as Alteryx, Databricks, Microsoft Power Platform and SAP Build. This includes full ownership of project plans, delivery timelines, User Acceptance Test (UAT), issues tracking and resolution to meet SLA.
• Leadership: Responsible for the career development, coaching and day-to-day work responsibilities of a group of professional analytics professionals.
• Continuous Improvement: Enhance the functionality and performance of analytics solutions by iteratively improving data models, data quality and insights.
• Issue Resolution: Proactively oversee and rectify any discrepancies or issues arising from existing solutions to prevent impact to business.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business units, Global Supply Management (GSM) stakeholders, IT teams and other groups to achieve alignment on solutions that address intricate data requirements, and challenges.
• Proof of Concept Development: Design and execute Proof of Value (POV) exercises to validate the impact and viability of new solutions e.g., predictive and prescriptive modeling using advanced analytics.
• Skill Development: Continuously enhance technical skills and keep up to date with industry trends.
Experiences/Education - Required:
• Education: bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computing, science or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 10-12 years of experience in similar lead role, preferably in data analytics, business intelligence, or application development within supply chain or similar industries.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, particularly Power BI, for data visualization and dashboard creation. Proven experience with Databricks, Power Apps, Python and SQL is preferred.
• Data Management Skills: Demonstrated ability in designing and constructing robust and scalable databases. Strong capabilities in data blending and transformation to create cohesive datasets from diverse sources, and experience in establishing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and compliance.
• Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of identifying opportunities and implementing solutions that improve business outcomes.
• Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• People Management: Experience leading and developing a team of analytics professionals.
• Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of current trends in data analytics and supply chain management, with the ability to translate them into actionable business strategies.
• Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams from different geographical locations and cultures.
