Applies suitable technique based on material type and thickness, Produces: Uniform, spatter-free weld beads, Crack-free, properly penetrated welds, Neat fillet and butt welds as per drawing requirements,Minimizes distortion, undercuts, and porosity
Reads and interprets: 2D fabrication drawings, Welding symbols, joint types, weld length, and leg size,Understands part orientation, positioning, and assembly order
Understands pre- and post-welding cleaning for coated or treated surfaces, Visually inspects and performs basic NDT prep (dye-penetrant, bend tests)
Identifies and rectifies: Porosity, cracks, lack of fusion, and burn-throughs
Follows proper safety protocols: Uses welding shield, gloves, apron, and ear protection, Maintains safe working area, ventilation, and fire safety readiness
Uses clamps, jigs, and fixtures to ensure repeatable and accurate part positioning, Helps in weld setup for batch production
Fills basic production logs: Weld checklists, part count, time logs, and rejection reports, Tracks consumable use (welding wire, gas, electrodes)
Works closely with: Fitters, Quality Inspectors, and Production Supervisors, Takes feedback positively and aligns work with production pace
Open to learning new welding techniques, better jig usage, and quality enhancement, Participates in toolbox talks, 5S, and lean practices on the shopfloor
