Job Description:
*The Lead Network
Engineer is responsible for implementing and managing an organization’s network
infrastructure. Primary purpose is to ensure that the network systems—both
hardware and software—operate efficiently, securely, and reliably to support
the organization's IT needs
*The role will also ensure compliance to security policies within the team’s
scope, as well as ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are
fit for purpose.
Accountabilities:
• Implement geographically distributed WAN solutions to optimize network
traffic routing and enhance performance.
• Configure SDWAN/MPLS connections to ensure efficient and reliable
communication between locations.
• Manage Fortinet firewall configurations, including access control lists
(ACLs), IPSec VPNs, and SSL VPNs etc.
• Implement PaloAlto firewall policies to enforce security controls and protect
against advanced threats.
• Perform regular audits of firewall rules and configurations to ensure
compliance with organizations security policies and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues related to SDWAN, MPLS, Fortinet, Palo
Alto, WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, Cloud Migration Strategy (AZURE),
including diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures
(SOPs).
• Monitor network performance metrics and analyze trends to identify areas for
improvement and optimization.
• Lead network upgrade and migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to
business operations.
• Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior network engineers
and IT staff.
Shared accountabilities:
• Coordinate with ICT system administrators to ensure seamless integration
between network infrastructure and other IT systems.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of network documentation,
diagrams, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT security teams to implement and maintain network security
controls, such as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and web
content filtering.
