Job Description:-
As a Principal - Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the successful execution of fit out projects, ensuring that they align with airline requirements, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic thinking. You will work closely with PSS product, Business, and cross-functional teams with organization to ensure the timely delivery of high-impact features, while maintaining a focus on quality, scalability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Great people management skills with an ability to interact with individuals at all levels.
- Strong leadership and employee management skills.
- Own the technical direction for multiple software development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define the roadmap and set realistic project timelines and milestones.
- Lead architecture and design discussions, making key decisions on technology stack, tools, and methodologies.
- Drive the implementation of engineering best practices and development standards to ensure high-quality airline applications.
- Work with product/Project managers to break down complex requirements into manageable tasks and prioritize the team’s work based on business goals.
- Use agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to manage team sprints, track progress, and mitigate risks.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (PMO, Codeshare, Product, Design, QA, DevOps etc) to ensure smooth collaboration and high-quality product releases.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing across teams.
- Promote the adoption of new technologies and methodologies that can drive the team’s productivity and product quality.
- Strong understanding of modern frameworks and technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or MCA.
- 16+ years of software development experience, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role managing teams of engineers.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in complex, ambiguous situations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
