Position Overview:
The Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) will be
responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of bio-composting sites
across India. This role involves driving branding, market linkages, and social
media outreach, while ensuring that each site runs efficiently like a business.
The EIR will work closely with Women Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to build capacity,
establish sustainable revenue models, and create a strong market presence for
the compost produced. The ideal candidate will have a strong business acumen,
excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster relationships with
government entities, local markets, and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Site Operations & Management:
- Oversee
day-to-day operations of multiple bio-composting units across various
locations.
- Ensure
efficient processes at each site, including waste collection, compost
production, packaging, and distribution.
Branding & Market Linkages:
- Develop and
implement branding strategies to position the bio-compost products
effectively in the market.
- Establish and
strengthen market linkages with local vendors, farmers, agro-businesses,
and online platforms to ensure a steady demand for compost.
- Drive product
packaging and marketing efforts to enhance visibility and create a strong
market presence.
Business Development & Revenue Generation:
- Create
sustainable revenue models for the composting units, ensuring financial
independence for the SHGs managing the sites.
- Develop and
manage pricing strategies for compost products.
- Explore new
markets, product lines, and sales channels to expand business
opportunities.
Social Media & Communication:
- Manage social
media outreach and communication strategies to promote the compost
products and engage with customers.
- Create
content for various platforms, highlighting the impact of bio-composting
on sustainability, women’s empowerment, and environmental health.
- Monitor
feedback and reviews, adapting communication strategies to improve
engagement.
Capacity Building & Training:
- Provide on going
training and capacity-building programs for SHGs managing the sites,
focusing on business management, branding, and entrepreneurship.
- Conduct
workshops and seminars to equip SHGs with market knowledge and skills to
run the bio-composting sites as independent businesses.
Stakeholder Engagement & Government Relations:
- Build and
maintain relationships with local government bodies and regulatory
agencies to ensure compliance and secure support for bio-composting
initiatives.
- Advocate for
policies and partnerships that enhance the growth and sustainability of
the bio-composting program.
- Engage with
environmental and community-based organizations to promote collaboration.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track the
performance of each bio-composting site, including sales, production
efficiency, and market penetration.
- Prepare and
present reports on progress, revenue, market reach, and impact to key
stakeholders.
- Ensure
alignment with sustainability goals and environmental impact metrics.
Qualification and
Experience:
- Bachelor’s or
Master’s degree in Business, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Studies, or a
related field.
- Minimum of
4-5 years of experience in business management, operations, branding, or
market development.
